So What exactly is Darksearch.org?
Darksearch.org is a fundraising company, raising money for charaties and worthy organisations all over the world.
Were focused primarily on rasing awearness on climate change and environmental isseus. There is little argument against the fact that global warming and its long-term effects will be the most challenging problems facing us today, and our children in the future. We want to encorage people to do a little bit, each day, to minimize their impact on their environment. This is why DarkSearch.org is a C02 Neutral website, and why every member of our staff does all we can to lower our C02 and rubbish footprint. Even things like puting on an extra sweatter instead of turning up the thermostat can make a huge differance. What else does DarkSearch do?
Climate change is not the only thing we want to try and gather support for. There's hundreds of other charaties and organisations that need funds or promotion of their causes. We regulary run promotions to raise money for charaties and those in need. Check out our facebook page to see who we're trying to help now.
How much actually gets to those who need it?
Its a verry important question to ask, as not all fundraising companys are non-profit. How much of the money that Darksearch.org raises for the charaties actually reaches those in need can also vary somewhat, depending on which charaties we are giving the money to. As a result we do our best to only support and promote those that pass on the highest % of their income to those in need.
That asside, in regards to DarkSearch.org, we donate 100% of our proceeds on to the charaties and organisations we promote. We are strictly non-profit, and very proud of it.
So why the 'dark' search?
Every hour of every day millions of searches are performed by Google using the standard white background. The 'Dark' theme of our searches means that you monitor will require less power to run than its brighter alternative. The difference may be minimal, but every little bit helps. What we really want to focus on is the idea behind our dark theme, to give everyone a gentle reminder, each time they use this site, to turn off that extra light, turn down the thermostat by a couple of degrees, or take the buss to work tomorrow, rather than driving.
